Liu Yuting

Liu Yuting, born in 1964 in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province. Currently professor at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology; and dean of the sculpture teaching and research section of the Plastic Arts Department.

Flowers have always been the symbol of beautiful things in humanities» cultures. In traditional Chinese culture, the lotus has been praised much for its noble character and humanistic qualities. Relying on the cultural connotation, this work expresses the dream in which man and nature coexist in harmony. It conveys love and care for nature, ecosystem and life in general. By integrating human and plant together, it uses a realistic expression technique and mixes romantic feelings to demonstrate the spiritual ideal where people and nature become one.
